Probe Go Boom!! - NASA - Deep Impact
I watched the live feed, aside from them panning to the crowd at the moment of impact, I thought it was worth it. They hit right on target, and apparently within one second of the predicted time according to one voice on the broadcast.
Quite a feat when you think about all the variables that could have gone wrong.
The impact picture was great, apparently more dramatic looking than they expected. One person on the feed could be heard saying, “If that isn’t on the front page, something’s wrong”.
Well, even if doesn’t make it, this blog appreciates their work.
