Sometimes Silent

I stepped out today and looked out at the hazy fog and thought “bleh” but when I got in my car and started driving south only to get stuck in traffic with my dying air conditioner… I found myself appreciating “bleh”.

I met with my potential vendor, found out I’d have to meet again and then did not go out for lunch after all. The drive home wasn’t as bad but there were still spots of traffic and heat. I gave in during my drive and stopped for an icee / shake blended drink from a Burger King drive through. It tasted good but ultimately the much cooler air that greeted me when I got back to Ventura was a welcome relief.

Seriously, I went to the bank today to transfer my checking account into a different one since I was originally getting free checking because I was getting my design job check as a direct deposit. Well that’s not going to happen anymore.

Fortunately I had enough money in my savings and checking accounts to qualify for another checking account that even gives you interest. When my money was all put together I was surprised by how much I had (keep in mind that my guess would’ve been close to zilch ).

I thought to myself, “I’ve been doing ok with my small business”. I’m going to make a go of it now “for real” and I think I can do even better.

Some of the things in this article are why I think I’ve been doing ok: cheaper advertising, cheaper hardware, etc.

Now we’ll see if I can really make the small biz / entreprenuer idea work for me.
